Netherlands drawn with Germany again in Euro qualifiers

Once again, the Netherlands have been drawn with Germany, this time in the 2020 European Championship qualifying group. The two sides also faced each other in this year’s Nations League. The other opponents in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group C are Northern Ireland, Estonia and Belarus.

Germany failed to qualify as the top seeds after finishing bottom of the table in Nations League Group A. The other two countries in the group were the Netherlands and France. The Oranje beat Germany 3-0 at home and the sides drew 2-2 in Germany.         

EURO 2020
The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship features 24 nations is scheduled to be held in twelve countries. None of the organising countries automatically qualifies for the final tournament.

The qualifying cycle runs from March 2019 to November 2019. The winners and runners-up in each group qualify for the final tournament. This determines the first twenty nations out of the total of 24 participants in Euro 2020. The other four countries will come from qualifying play-offs between teams selected on the basis of their performance in the Nations League. Being one of the group winners, this would give the Netherlands a good second chance.

Four Euro 2020 fixtures are scheduled in the Johan Cruyff ArenA in Amsterdam: three group matches and one round of 16 match. The Euro 2020 semi-finals and the final will be played in the biggest stadium of the tournament; the climax of the month-long final tournament will be at Wembley Stadium in London.
