Last weekend the KNVB Campus  welcomed international visitors. 42 youth coaches from the United States were part of the KNVB Coaches Tour 2024. They gained insights into the KNVB vision, the Dutch football landscape and visited two Eredivisie matches.

The KNVB is internationally active and wants to develop football. We visit our football colleagues all over the world and regularly receive them in Zeist. We work together, seek connections, and help if necessary. All with one goal: to develop and improve football worldwide, for the future of our football.

The KNVB Coaches Tour was organized in collaboration with Premier International Tours and is part of the new KNVB label, the International Academy. This initiative provides tailor-made educational programs  for associations, leagues, clubs and confederations, among others.

Unique Dutch football landscape

The American youth coaches  followed an intensive and inspiring program last weekend. On our Campus, KNVB instructors Roger Schouwenaar, André Simmelink and Bert Konterman explained the KNVB vision and the unique Dutch football landscape. The group also visited the youth academies of Ajax and Vitesse, where both clubs shared their vision with the guests from America.

The Americans also attended two Eredivisie matches: Vitesse vs. FC Twente on Saturday evening and the clash between PSV and Feyenoord on Sunday afternoon. The lunch in Eindhoven was enhanced with a visit of Earnest Stewart. A familiar face for the American coaches. After all, the current technical director of PSV played 101 matches for the national team  of the United States and was technical director of the American association before he recently joined PSV.
