The kick-off of the biggest European Futsal championships ever is on Wednesday 19 January. The Ziggo Dome and MartiniPlaza are the stage for 32 matches, where sixteen countries compete against each other for the European title. On Sunday 6 February we will find out who the new European champion is.
The current COVID-measures, prohibiting spectators from attending sporting events, are extended until 25 January. This is the outcome of the COVID-press conference by the Dutch government on January 14. This means that the matches of UEFA Futsal EURO 2022 during the group stage unfortunately have to be played without spectators. It is still uncertain whether audiences will be allowed to attend the matches in the knockout phase.
Gijs de jong, tournament director: "UEFA Futsal EURO 2022 must ensure the sporting breakthrough and growth of futsal in the Netherlands. Of course, we had hoped that the sixteen participating countries would have beend played in two full stadiums. Should it be possible later on in the tournament to welcome fans, we will do everything we can. As an organisation, we are geared up to organise such an event in a safe and responsible manner."
Fans who have already secured tickets for the tournament will have their full purchase price refunded and will be informed by email. Should it turn out that it is possible to welcome specators during the knock-out phase in the Ziggo Dome, priority will be given to ticket sales to fans who have already bought tickets for that particular match. They will be informed about this by e-mail.
Partners in Europe and across the globe will be broadcasting UEFA Futsal EURO 2022. Selected matches will be streamed live in certain territories on UEFA.tv. Highlights of all matches will be available to view as of midnight CET. Check uefa.com/futsaleuro for more information about which matches will be broadcasted or streamed in your territory.
