The draw for UEFA Futsal EURO 2022 will take place at the KNVB Campus in Zeist (the Netherlands), the homebase of the Oranje futsal team. The draw is set to begin at 6pm on Monday 18 October. UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 will be the biggest futsal European Championship ever.
For the first time sixteen countries (previously twelve) will be competing in the European final tournament. This means that 32 matches will be played in Amsterdam and Groningen from 19 January to 16 February. Ticket sales starts on Tuesday 19 October.
Each group contains four teams. Depending on their coefficient ranking, the participants are assigned to one of the four pots at the draw. The final rankings for the draw will be determined after the FIFA Futsal World Cup, which is currently taking place in Lithuania. As a host, the Netherlands have automatically qualified. Other participating nations are Portugal (current title holder), Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Finland, Georgia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Ukraine. Serbia and Belarus will compete for the last ticket on 14 and 17 November.
Tournament Director Gijs de Jong is looking forward to the draw: "For the first time, the draw for a European Championship will take place at the KNVB Campus in Zeist, something we as tournament organisation are very proud of. After the final draw, the teams will know who they will meet and preparations can begin. Also for the fans. We look forward to full venues and a lot of spectacle.”
The draw will be hosted by UEFA Futsal EURO ambassador Soufiane Touzani and street football queen Rocky Hehakaija. They will welcome a number of Dutch and European Futsal legends in Zeist. The draw can be watched live on UEFA.tv on 18 October from 6pm (CTS).
One day after the draw, ticket sales will start for all matches, which will be played in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and MartiniPlaza in Groningen. Prices start from 10 euro and will be available at knvb.com/futsaleuro.
